Position Summary

The geophysicist will be a member of the Developments team which will carry out field development planning of the Non-Operated Assets. The role will encompass the interpretation of existing 3D seismic data and the creation of maps of key stratigraphic intervals. This will support the data input into the Geological Static and Reservoir Dynamic Model builds of the fields for reserves estimation and production forecasting. The geophysicist will be responsible for ensuring that the most appropriate geophysical techniques are applied to the project and will also work to optimise Development well planning as appropriate to incorporate all relevant geophysical interpretation and uncertainties.

Key Accountabilities

• Conduct detailed mapping on field and block-specific 3D seismic data, analyse seismic attributes, and prepare detailed structural, stratigraphic and amplitude maps using Petrel and/or Geoframe software.
• Application of AI/EI/EEI concepts as part of the interpretation process for reservoir characterisation.
• Perform Seismic-to-well tie calibrations in Time and Depth domains.
- Basic Log interpretation and edition for well to seismic synthetic tie
- Velocity models building, edition and calibration to well data. Ability to asses velocity uncertainty.
• Play an active role in seismic survey planning and processing / reprocessing exercises.
• Subsurface assurance and optimization of Development Well planning Working with colleagues (developments, drilling) to ensure the highest quality Development drilling program is prepared.
• Work closely with colleagues in the geological static model and reservoir dynamic model construction.
• Take an active role in reservoir and management strategy development.
• Present evaluations to company management and to partner.
• Participate in peer assists and peer reviews and seek input from others to ensure technical high quality is achieved in evaluations.
• Plan and lead projects and lead the supervision of outside contractors when necessary.
• Represent the company at technical meetings and workshops.

• Educated to a minimum BSc (Hons) level in an earth science discipline.
• Minimum 15 years experience of workstation based 2D and 3D seismic interpretation
• Broad Knowledge of other subsurface disciplines and non-seismic techniques
• Experience in Field Development planning and the subsurface assurance of wells, seismic operations and processing as well as inversion techniques for reservoir characterization would be desirable
• Broad experience of working globally in different geological settings – clastics, carbonates, passive margins,
• Experience in sandstone and carbonate reservoirs, particularly the Brazil pre-salt carbonates would be an advantage.
• Computer Literate and proficient in the use of seismic interpretation systems [Petrel and Geoframe/IESX)] is desirable.
