Technical Sales Representative

Job description:

We are looking for an experienced Technical Sales Representative for the Industrial Air Division who will cover EPCs in the Calgary Area with high potential for business. 
The successful candidate will have a mission and responsibilities to: 
  • You will be in charge to increase the market share for new equipment, build the relationship and customer’s loyalty.
  • Maximize sales of all available Industrial Air products to our current and new customers through relentless sale prospecting activities focused towards the assigned market.
  • Build long term relationships and loyalty.
  • Identify sales prospects.
  • Maintain and grow our current market and market share.
  • Prepare RFQs and proposals.
  • Presentation of our portfolio through lunch and learns.
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
  • Optimize product mix, giving each product its best chance in the field.
  • Contribute to brand strategy, identify solutions to potential issues negotiate and close sales.
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminarsand trade shows.
  • Work with sales team, Product Managers, engineering team and Application Engineer from Industrial Air Division.
  • Follow-up for collection of payment when required.
  • Participate to sales meetings.
  • Prepare reports and update the quote platform.
  • Update CRM on daily basis.
  • Promote Atlas Copco’s Core value of Interaction, Innovation and Commitment in the market place.

Mission:

Technical Sales Representative/Sales Engineer is accountable for general business development, and revenue growth in terms of key customers present in different markets in the Calgary Area. The initial focus will be on the management of Key Accounts and specific responsibility for key Engineering products and OEM’s. You will be in charge of increasing the market share for new equipment and replacement of the existing unit.

Experience requirements:

  • Proven experience in selling industrial equipment and must have strong ability to close orders.
  • Good understanding and experience on sales territory management and it’s actual implementation.

Knowledge:

  • An engineering degree (preferable) or equivalent gained from experience Knowledge of the compressed air industry (especially industrial air compressors) and its applications.

Educational requirements:

  • University degree in Engineering, Business/Marketing or similar through experience.

Personality requirements:

  • A proven self-starter & a team player who requires minimum supervision and can coordinate efforts to achieve sales targets.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to make technical presentations.
  • Computer literate (Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Good understanding and use of company rules and policies (applicable to the sales process).
