Vice President for Cooperation and Capacity Development

The Islamic Development Bank Group endeavors to be a value-added partner in fostering socio-economic development in its member countries in conformity with its own principles to alleviating poverty, promoting human development, science and technology, Islamic economics, banking and finance, and enhancing cooperation amongst member countries, in collaboration with other development partners.
The IDBG is seeking to fill the position of the Vice President for Cooperation and Capacity Development (CCD), spearheading the on-going transformation of IDBG with its soft interventions in favour of its member countries.
The Vice President (CCD) is a senior leadership position reporting to the President of the IDB Group. Being one of the senior positions in the IDB Group, the Vice president (CCD) contributes significantly to developing and enhancing the vision of the IDB Group, its corporate plans and their implementation, ensuring that the outcomes further the development agenda of the institution with results on the ground.
The Vice President (CCD) has direct responsibility for providing intellectual leadership and guidance to empowering the cross cutting strategic thrusts of capacity development, regional cooperation and poverty alleviation through developing an innovative and viable
business and operating model and seeking new sources of concessional and grant funding.
The Vice President (CCD) is a member of the IDB Group Management team which exercises oversight on all aspects of the Group’s activities. The position requires direct interaction with the Board of Governors, Board of Executive Directors, Senior Officials from member countries, external clients, multi-lateral development institutions, the OIC, public and private sector organizations, and non-governmental organizations.
Candidates need to have the following profile:
  • Postgraduate qualification preferably in economics, operations, finance, Business Administration or related field.
  • More than 20 years of broad work experience including a proven track record of strong intellectual leadership skills at a senior management position in large multi-cultural organizations in the public and/or private sector with diverse workforce.
  • Familiarity with the work of multi-lateral development institutions.
