Grant Management Coordinator
"A hands-on strategic grant manager to manage two Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs grants."

You
You are a passionate grant manager. You have superb planning and reporting skills. You enjoy managing multi stakeholder donor projects and you understand the balance between being diplomatic and being to the point to obtain results in time. Working towards deadlines gives you energy. As the Grant Management Coordinator you are responsible for the coordination of two large grants of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Conn@ct.Now and Protracted Crisis. You ensure appropriate grant management of both contracts. You will provide support to the Head of Field Operations in the coordination of the grant with external coalition partners and all internal stakeholders. You monitor and manage compliance with donor requirements, reports on results and recommendations for improvement and innovation. You are part of the Field Operations department.
The Conn@ct.Now funding ends at the end of 2015, the Protracted Crisis funding at the end of 2016. The position is at least until the end of 2015 - but will probably be extended depending on the inclusion of other grants (from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs or other institutional donors).
Your challenge
You ensure effective coordination of large donor funded projects in line with donor requirements. You are responsible for the preparation of quality planning and reporting documents for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both narrative and financial, in close collaboration with country offices and relevant departments at Head Office. You ensure that grants reporting and documentation is prepared and managed effectively according to internal procedures and the commitments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Your profile
You have a relevant academic degree in international economics, management, development studies or related field. You have at least 5 years of experience in humanitarian or development work (including field experience) and at least 3 years of experience in grant management at a tactical and strategic level. You have proven experience in outcome monitoring. Knowledge of donor regulations is essential, knowledge of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs a big plus. You have a thorough understanding of rights based work in (post) conflict areas and you also understand the financial part of grants. You have excellent communication skills in English (oral and written), Fluency in French, Spanish and/or Dutch is an added value. You have strong organizational, time management and analytical skills. You have excellent inter-personal, cultural and diplomatic skills. Superb writing and editing skills are a must and you are flexible to adapt to changing requirements. You are able to support and build capacity of international staff. You are able to juggle competing priorities and to meet demanding deadlines under pressure. You have excellent computer skills (MS Office). You are willing to travel regularly (several times per year to conflict and post-conflict countries.
You are committed to invest in this position at least until the end of 2015. War Child offers a contract for one year with the intention to prolong.
