Inter IKEA Systems B.V., a Dutch company within the Inter IKEA Group, is the owner of the IKEA Concept and worldwide IKEA franchisor. Inter IKEA Systems B.V. is active in the development and franchising of the IKEA Retail System for the sale of furniture and furnishings by IKEA retailers. Other companies within the Inter IKEA Group are involved in the development of shopping centers, real estate and financial management.
To support our continued expansion, the Inter IKEA legal team is hiring a junior legal counsel.
Applicants must have completed a degree in Law, with excellent results and should have gained approximately 2-3 years of post-qualification experience preferably within a leading law firm or multinational corporation.
As a junior lawyer you will work closely together with the more senior lawyers in the different areas where the legal department is involved. Your role will span a variety of different legal fields, including franchising, intellectual property, distribution, IT and tax. The breadth of this role requires an open mind, a willingness to learn new areas of law and an interest in being involved in a wide range of legal matters.

You should be an enthusiastic self-starter, be business focused, solution minded and have the ability to work autonomously. As the position requires close contacts and cooperation with the different business units, you should possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to build strong relations with the business units. You should also have the confidence to deal with difficult situations and have a high level of integrity essential for dealing with the business.
As the working language is English, a strong command of written and spoken English is required. Experience in one or more of the above mentioned areas of law and drafting of commercial contracts is essential. In addition, knowledge of Dutch law would be advantageous.
The Inter IKEA legal team, based in Waterloo, Belgium, has the sole responsibility within the Inter IKEA Group for providing legal services to the IKEA franchisor on a global basis. We offer a competitive package for this position.
