POLICY COORDINATOR , American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium
Key duties:
- Coordinate all aspects of policy work and drive the implementation of the organization’s policy goals.
- Develop contacts with those working in other Chambers and Associations who also work to improve the business environment in Belgium.
- Develop contacts with members to keep abreast of their policy concerns.
- Scan media and other policy sources daily and prepare a daily digest of political and economic developments, flagging up potential areas of concern for members.
- Act as committee liaison for the Government Relations Forum and Human Resources Committee.
- Work with the Government Relations Forum (GRF) and their network of contacts within the political world at Federal and Regional levels, in order to develop a good working relationship with them while gaining an insight into policy priorities in areas closely related to members’ concerns.
- Conduct research into policy issues and draft policy material and publications and write the weekly blog on the most pressing policy issue.
- Write and/or coordinate all policy material, making full use of all available technology, for online and offline use.
Candidate profile:
- Excellent written and spoken English (native language ability). A good level in both Dutch and French.
- Good communication, networking and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and research.
- A natural sense of responsibility and willing to take the initiative.
- University education.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a work environment.
