Head of International Mobilization Trust

Salary: £Competitive
Location: London

For the past 50 years Amnesty International (AI) has brought people together to fight for human rights. We’ve lobbied, protested and mobilized all over the world for human rights. And in this process, we’ve grown hugely. Heading up our International Mobilisation Trust (IMT), you’ll provide the strategic and operational leadership that ensures our grants are targeted and monitored to maximise their relevance and impact.

About the role

In simple terms, it’ll be down to you to manage the funding relationship between AI and our internationally financed operations around the world. In other words, you’ll make sure the way we allocate grants and other resources to different projects complies with the policies and procedures we have in place, and delivers on the commitments we make to attract the funding in the first place. As well as dealing with the day-to-day operational challenges this presents, you’ll be responsible for controlling the entire IMT budget; for developing and rolling out an effective risk management strategy; and for overseeing our transition to a new and improved mechanism for allocating resources globally.

About you
An inspirational leader and a powerful communicator, you’ll bring plenty of experience in programme management. And particular expertise when it comes to funding, grants and general financial management. Passionate about human rights, you’ll understand the effects of social change and have experience of organisational development, governance and structures in an NGO environment. Perhaps most important, however, will be your ability to plan strategically, translate that ‘big picture’ thinking into clear objectives and solid plans, then deliver on them all.

About us
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, fairness, freedom and truth wherever they’re denied. Already our network of almost three million members and supporters is making a difference in 150 countries. And whether we’re applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we’re all inspired by hope for a better world, one where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
