Role Purpose: To manage and maintain all production and non-production enterprise applications and database environments of IDB Group. To perform applications and database installation, configuration and monitoring, ensure adherence to standards and best practices for application and database design and control change management activities across the applications and database platforms. To manage security and user access related to applications and databases. To ensure proper backup and recovery strategies are applied to the application and database environments of IDB Group.

Key Activities: Planning and Design: Participate in the business requirements gathering for application and database platforms Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of application and database platforms for the organization Participate in the availability and capacity planning and design for application and database platforms Participate in the security planning and design for application and database platforms including user access methods Participate in the design of the applications and databases that will be implemented on the application and database platform Implementation: Install and configure the application and database platforms to meet business requirements Coordinate with the external IT service providers in the implementation application and database platforms Test the implemented application and database platforms to ensure that the implementation meets the requirements and is compatible with the production application and database environment Perform change management and release management activities for the implementation of the applications and databases in the development, quality assurance and production environments Review implemented applications and databases during the development and testing lifecycle to ensure application performance and data integrity Apply controls to ensure database integrity and security Develop technical documentation for the implemented application and database platforms Administration and Operations: Provide Level 2 support for application and database platform problems Analyze and resolve application and database platform problems using diagnostic software and/or technical troubleshooting processes. Apply fixes, patches and updates to the application and database software as per the policy Provide application and database to users as per the policy Maintain the technical documentation of the application and database platforms Coordinate periodic application and database platform health checks with relevant vendors Monitoring: Perform daily, weekly and monthly application and database platform monitoring activities to verify the integrity and availability of the applications and databases Monitor performance of the applications and databases and resolve performance bottlenecks Produce regular reports on application and database platform performance and utilization Availability Management: Participate in designing appropriate backup and recovery strategies for the application and database platforms Perform regular backup activities for applications and databases Repair and recover applications and databases from failures Project Management: Participate in application and database platform specific projects Participate in definition and management of project scope, timeline, resources, stakeholders and deliverables Report and address project issues and risks Provide status reports including progress, issues and risks Vendor Management: Identify appropriate vendors for IT solutions and services in the marketplace Participate in developing RFI, RFQ, RFP documents related to application and database solutions Participate in the technical evaluation of vendor proposals related to applications and database platforms Participate in the negotiation and finalization of vendor contracts Communicate with vendors for evaluation of new solutions, implementation services and technical support Policies and Procedures: Participate in the development and documentation of application and database platform related policies and operational procedures Participate in the implementation of IT standards and frameworks

Experience: 4 to 6 years relevant experience Knowledge of managing application platforms Knowledge of managing database platforms Knowledge of application and database design concepts Knowledge of change management concepts for applications and databases Knowledge of Vendor Management Knowledge of Project Management

Qualifications: Minimum University Degree in IT discipline or a related field Professional training in managing application and database platforms Administration of applications - MS SharePoint, MS CRM, .Net Applications and equivalent Administration of databases - Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 and equivalent Administration of SWIFT platform - SWIFT Alliance (Access, Gateway, WebStation, WorkStation), TurboSwift, TurboConnect, TurboGateway, TurboFax Usage of application and database monitoring and administration tools Navigation of Operating Systems - Unix, Windows Server
