About the role

The Senior Education Advisor’s technical leadership will define strategic direction and ensure high quality education programming in domestic and internationally funded programs. This role will work with country offices to set, support and monitor the strategic direction of education programs, particularly in the Pacific and Asia.

Working to strengthen the technical quality of Save the Children’ education programs and the capacity of staff to implement the high quality programs, the key outcomes for this role will be mutli-faceted with operational & strategic key result areas.

With a focus on Save the Children’s innovation and leadership in education globally, the role will represent and intensify the voice of the Education program internally and externally including influencing Save the Children International global strategy. A key area for success will also be to contribute to the collection and dissemination of innovations and lessons about how to improve children’s learning, raising awareness of Education through a programmatic focus with a strategic vision.

Reporting to the Director of Technical Services and sitting within the Programs team, this role works in close collaboration with Directors, Country Directors and State Managers in a partnership capacity to support and guide in the area of Education.

Our National Office is based in Melbourne and although it would be preferred that this position sit within the Melbourne office, there is flexibility in the location for the right candidate.
