Sales & Marketing Manager

IDA Foundation, founded in 1972, is the world's largest professional not-for-profit supplier organization of essential drugs and medical supplies. Job context

  • The Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for the total IDA sales and marketing policy and implementation.
  • The Sales & Marketing department consists of Area management/ Sales support / Planning & Forecasting/Tender and Marketing (approximately 50 employees).

Position in the organisation

The Sales & Marketing Manager reports to the Managing Director and is member of the Business Team.

Responsibilities and tasks of the Sales & Marketing Manager

  • Strategy
  • To develop and adjust Sales & Marketing strategy (with the business team)(segmentation, define target markets, marketing mix)
  • Proposal of the annual strategic plan
  • Develop the commercial focus within the Sales & Marketing team, while maintaining the IDA mission
  • Efficient account management and planning (sales cycle)
  • To maintain and build new relationships with strategic and key-accounts
  • Management
  • To manage the Sales & Marketing department (approx. 50 employees)
  • Ensure appropriate account and stakeholder management.
  • Budget
  • Directly accountable for turnover/contribution margin / bottom line
  • Ensure that budget targets are translated into targets for sales and marketing
(Travelling to accounts will be 20% of the time)

  • Ensure smooth cooperation between sales and purchase at all levels
  • To improve the delivery time together with other disciplines (Purchase, Quality, Logistics)
  • To develop new markets and implement market segmentation
  • To ensure marketing activities are aligned with key sales activities.

Experience

  • The Manager has 10-15 years proven international sales experience in countries with low and medium incomes, preferably in business-to-business environment
  • Experience (at least 10 years) of managing commercial teams
  • Experience in procurement and/or trading is preferable
