Job Profile:

The role of the job holder will be to provide a high quality technical assistance and contribute to capacity building for development of Islamic Financial Services Industry having awareness of current developmental challenges facing this Industry in IDB member and non member countries.

The role of the IFS Department is encouraging the Islamic Banking industry to participate effectively in the social and economical development in the MCs, that is why the IFS Department must be always aware of latest development and trends of this industry, in this context, the Senior Technical Assistance Officer's role is very vital.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the overall planning and working of the Department.
  • Plan in coordination with other IDB Group entities and stakeholders, Technical Assistance and Capacity Building proposals for regulatory bodies, infrastructure and financial institutions.
  • Develop and execute Technical Assistance & Capacity Building programs in coordination with the strategic partners and with member country governments according to its needs.
  • Remain aware of current development issues and their implications for IDB Group activities in general and IFS activities in particular.
  • Coordinate and organize with relevant other entities of the IDB Group annual and other meetings of the Bank with IFIs and follow up the implementation of the resolutions adopted in these meetings.
  • Build and maintain strategic relations network with partners who can assist IDB in its efforts to develop the Industry.
  • Act as the focal point between IDB and the Islamic infrastructure institutions and manage, strengthen and contribute to their capacity building.
  • Develop and Review policies & procedures to improve the efficiency of IFS's operations.
  • Undertake all activities required to create an enabling environment for the development of the Islamic Financial Services Industry, thereby facilitating its integration within the International Financial System (in coordination with stakeholders).
  • Prepare periodical reports based on latest development of the Islamic Finance & Banking industry and the related tools & techniques.

Experience & Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree (preferably in Islamic economics and /or finance), with high grades from a reputable University..
  • 5-8 years experience in the Islamic financial services industry.
  • Fluency in English, working knowledge of Arabic and French will be considered an additional advantage.
