Our client is a world-renowned pharmaceutical company.
Purpose:
· Oversee all aspects of global supply chain, order fulfillment, and ensure absolute integration with Commercial Services, Regulatory and Information Technology;
· Develop world class processes for product launch and / order transition management, logistics and order fulfillment;
· Provide support to sales in a variety of areas including sales forecasting, product release schedules, returns, product samples and other special product requests;
· Integrate business functions into the supply chain to ensure best practice.
Specific Outcomes / Accountability:
· Responsible for the development, documenting and implementing a global comprehensive supply chain plan which will drive optimal customer service and profitability ;
· Direct supply chain, inventory management, forecasting, distribution, customer services and logistics;
· Lead and oversee the design, development, deployment and optimization of processes, systems and supply chain architecture globally ;
· Drive standardization of processes across affiliates and business units – processes include but are not limited to global sales & operations planning and new product introductions, supply network planning, inventory optimisation, demand management and sales forecasting;
· Collaborate with the appropriate senior level operational, supply chain, regulatory and commercial functions in the development and implementation of the supply chain strategic plan;
· Champion a ‘customer first’ culture across supply chain hubs within the company;
· Identify and resolve supply issues; ensure implementation of risk management initiatives to prevent stock outs;
· Planning distribution operations including all the processes of inbound,warehousing,outbound, and reverse logistics;
· Design, review and make recommendations to the supply chain management model taking into account lead time and logistics costs;
· Create a performance driven culture and robust supply chain which is capable of taking on new products which transition post acquisition;
· Build alignments with manufacturing sites to implement efficient production campaigns, lead times and order quantities which allow sites to produce cost effectively and efficiently whilst retaining flexibility;
· Implement specialized supply models for tender and ad hoc orders;
· Enable consolidation of demand across various affiliates to drive up MOQ’s and therefore extract supply chain efficiency and cost containment;
· Hold frequent supply chain meetings to enhance performance across the various supply chain hubs;
· Establish an effective mechanism to measure costs across the supply chain for both toll and contract manufacture;
· Implement toll manufacture system for supply from intermediates to finished packed products;
· Represent the supply chain in Global projects;
· Evaluate systems requirements on an ongoing basis and ensure all IT systems involved in the supply chain can integrate and allow for information retrieval by both finance and commercial divisions;
· Develop a set of KPI’s to measure performance of all suppliers and sales divisions relative to supply chain functions;
· Ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met within Global guidelines;
· Develop global implementation of distribution best practices such as system integration and optimisation, inventory control and SKU optimisation;
· Developing the business by gaining new contacts, analysing supply chain issues and producing new solutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
· B Degree;
· Pharmaceutical experience essential;
· At least 15 years experience in supply chain and logistics with at least 10 years in a senior role; includingforecasting experience especially in a high volume environment; strong understanding of master production scheduling; strong understanding of MRP management and inventory control;
· Sound knowledge of IT systems commonly associated with the supply chain.
