University Lecturership in Microanalysis of Materials

DEPARTMENT OF MATERIALS in association with Trinity College

The Department of Materials proposes to appoint a University Lecturer in the general field of materials microanalysis and/or materials chemistry with effect from 1 January 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter. We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in Atom Probe Tomography but candidates with a wider range of interests will be considered. The postholder will be offered a Fellowship by Trinity College, under arrangements described in the further particulars. The combined University and college salary will be on a scale up to £57,431 p.a.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead a research activity in the application of advanced analysis techniques to the study of materials chemistry and to the control of materials properties. He/she will also contribute to teaching in the Department of Materials, including lecturing, examining and graduate supervision, pastoral care of graduate students, and assistance with the administration and organisation of teaching and research. As a Fellow of Trinity College, the successful candidate will participate in the administration and governance of the college and in the teaching and pastoral care of undergraduates.
