BUE is an established private University 35 km from Cairo delivering programmes based upon the UK QAA model and with a strong emphasis on research. It aims to be a leading research and teaching University, providing quality British Higher Education. BUE has a student population of about 3000 in four Faculties, with plans in place for substantial growth. The majority of programmes are validated by Loughborough University and most graduates receive both a UK and a BUE degree. There are four Research Centres. All academic staff are expected to be active, to international standards, in research or pedagogic development.

Professors/Assistant Professors/Lecturers:

Teaching

• To teach undergraduate students and to conduct related assessments using an appropriate range of methods and approaches.
• To provide academic support and advice to undergraduate students.
• To engage in the evaluation and development of modules and take responsibility in terms of content, delivery and assessment.
• To cooperate with colleagues in the continuous review and development of the Department's taught programmes and curriculum.
• To develop proactively a teaching profile that meets the needs of the Department.

Research

• To manage research projects and, as appropriate, supervise research students.
• To publish the outcomes of research in journals of international standing.
• To help set the research agenda for key aspects of research in the subject area.

Other Related Activities and Functions

• To engage in training programmes in the University (for example through Staff Development) which are consistent with individual needs and aspirations and those of the Department.
• To carry out specific administrative roles and functions as may reasonably be require.
• To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably requested and that are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.
