The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith University is recognised as Australia´s leading criminology school and ranks among the top Criminology Schools in the world. With over 30 faculty in the School, as well as affiliated researchers in various criminology related research centres, Griffith University’s School of Criminology and Criminal Justice represents the largest community of academic criminologists in Australia. High quality research that is theoretically informed and policy relevant represents a core theme in the School.

This is a continuing, full time position based at the Mt Gravatt campus, Queensland, Australia.

The role:
The School invites applications for a continuing position as Professor or Associate Professor to begin in 2012. The School has existing research relationships with government stakeholders, including the state Corrections department, and seeks to appoint someone who can lead our developing profile in this area.

Professors and Associate Professors make a significant contribution to all activities of the School and the appointee will play a significant role within the area of Corrections. The appointee will be expected to contribute to the enhancement of research and teaching excellence in the School.

The person:
We seek applicants with a strong research and teaching track record in Corrections, especially in areas related to correctional interventions and programs. Applicants are expected to have established publishing and grant records in Corrections research, and well-developed collaborative networks. Applicants are also expected to have a demonstrated ability to conduct and publish significant research and lead research teams, as well as contribute to an environment committed to collegiality, diversity, and graduate education.

Salary range:
Professor, Level E: $150,817 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $176,457 per annum.

Associate Professor, Level D: $117,081 to $128,988 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $136,985 - $150,916 per annum.
