CONSULTANT-EXTENDING THE COASTAL FOREST PROTECTED AREA SUBSYSTEM IN TANZANIA

The GEF through UNDP has committed $3.5 million to contribute to improving the conservation of the Coastal Forests of Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar. Field actions will focus on Zanzibar (Unguja and Pemba) and Southern Tanzania (Lindi, Kilwa and Rufiji districts). An important part of the GEF project model is to collect sufficient data at the start of the project to allow the impact of the interventions to be measured over the life span of the project.Another part of the model is to fully understand the barriers and their distribution, so that the project can seek to remove these barriers. During the first year of the project, a number of baseline studies were conducted including spatial planning and setting down a strategy for ensuring adequate conservation. The second year to which these TOR are focusing would build on the work accomplished during the first year and systematically implement the strategy driving the project towards the Mid Term Review.

UNDP Tanzania is seeking a Consultant for provision of backstopping work on the economic values of Coastal Forests from field work to final report; advancing education and awareness activities in the project areas leading to development of business plans for a number of village land forest reserves in coastal areas, especially in southern Tanzania.

CONSULTANT FOR BASELINE SURVEY -UNWOMEN,TANZANIA

The United Nations Entity on Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) was created in July 2010 by General Assembly resolution A/Res/64/289 to assist countries and the UN system itself to progress more effectively and efficiently toward the goal of achieving gender equality, women's empowerment and upholding women's rights. UN Women's vision is a world where societies are free of gender-based discrimination, where women and men have equal opportunities, where the comprehensive development of women and girls is ensured so that they can continue to be active agents of change, where gender equality and women's empowerment are achieved and where women's rights are upheld in all efforts to further development, human rights, peace and security.

UN Women is seeking a consultant to conduct a coordinated baseline survey to establish baseline indicators that will imply a clear monitoring and evaluation plan (M&E) and platform for impact evaluation (IE). The baseline survey seeks to identify and categorize any hindrance to the ongoing implementation of the country programme. The consultancy will lead to the establishment of a baseline that the programme can use to measure its performance.
