CBeebies is dedicated to delighting and surprising its young audience and it remains the UK's most watched and most loved channel for the under-sixes.

Almost half of the target audience tune in every week (parents and carers with children aged 0-3 and four- to six-year-olds in digital homes) with 55% saying it is one of their favourite channels. Our reach is around three times that of our nearest competitor.

In November, CBeebies was named BAFTA’s Children’s Channel of the Year for a second year running.
BBC Children’s is responsible for the delivery of all media content across CBBC and CBeebies on all interactive platforms including web, mobile devices and interactive television. The Interactive production teams work closely with commissioners, editorial genre heads and linear TV and radio producers to create an interactive presence that is integrated, multiplatform at its core and fits creatively with the rest of the department.

Role

As Interactive Executives you will be expected to establish a collaborative and effective relationship with the FM head of product, and UX colleagues. Currently there are two Interactive Executive posts in Children’s - aligned with the channel brands CBeebies and CBBC, they both report in to the head of in-house production but work in some capacity across the whole portfolio from in-house to nations to indie’s.    As Interactive Executive you will be a senior member of the CBeebies and CBBC creative teams, and deliver commissioned programme enhancements and products as well as running ongoing services.

Requirements

You will have a  proven track record in leading and managing large teams with the ability to demonstrate strong creative and managerial skills.    With evidence of a commitment to creating both diverse content and a staff base to reflect our audiences.  You should have sound understanding of all interactive platforms, their capabilities and an appreciation of how children consume these services.  As well as financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, control costs and maximize value across all expenditure.   You should also have knowledge of co-production and third party funding opportunities both in the UK and internationally.  Furthermore you’ll have a good understanding of the target audience and the issues surrounding children and their use of multi-media interactive services, with an appreciation of usability and accessibility issues across a variety of platforms.  Experience of working with children and producing successful content for the CBeebies audience desirable.
