Dorcas is a Christian relief and development organization active in Eastern Europe and Africa. In these regions Dorcas cooperates with and supports local partner organizations. Dorcas is committed to fulfill the command of Jesus Christ  to take care of the poor and oppressed (Mt.25.31-46), irrespective of their religion, race, gender or political affiliation, by encouraging self-reliance through development, providing social care and assisting in emergency situations. Dorcas supports 177 projects in 17 countries.

The Marketing & Communication department is overall responsible for Dorcas internal and external communication. The department serves the fundraising departments and helps developing policies and strategies. The department consists of five marketing communication specialists. To continue and expand  marketing and communication services to the international organization, Dorcas invites candidates to apply for the vacancy of :

Communication & translation professional Dutch-English-Dutch

Employment: 0,8 FTE - half a year

Dorcas is looking for a committed and experienced candidate to join the team at the headquarters in Andijk.

The communication & translation professional will be responsible for:

• Assuring quality communications, compliant with visual and verbal identity guidelines and policies;
• Copy writing: Dutch press releases, articles, brochures, online messages;
• Managing marketing and communication projects;
• Assuring quality translations Dutch-English-Dutch;
• Consulting internal departments;
• Maintaining and expanding contacts with colleagues throughout the international organization;
• Assisting in producing and publishing a periodical.

Job Requirements:

• BSc or MA degree related to communication and/or translation;
• Minimum of three years relevant working experience; preferably in development sector;
• Fluent command of English and Dutch;
• Proactive attitude, flexible personality, strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Adherence to the Dorcas vision and mission;
• Active membership of a church.
