Department
The Operations department's main responsibility is to implement multiple activities to provide services for Fairfood International. The department is directed by the Director Operations, who is responsible for the coordination, realization and actual implementation of these services. The department is responsible for six areas: HR, Quality Assurance, Impact Assessment and Evaluation, ICT, Finance, Facilities, Security and Legal. The department is staffed by seven Managers, each with the help of one to four unpaid Assistants. The culture in the department is very informal with substantial room for own initiative and development.
Responsibilities
As Manager HR you are responsible for managing the HR administration and advising the Director Operations, the Executive Directors and management on HR aspects. You coordinate a team of volunteers who administer all aspects related to human resources. You develop procedures and instructions that ensure that all administrative aspects of HR are managed properly. In addition, you provide advice to the Director Operations on various HR aspects, from regulation to organization, and to the Executive Director and other staff if so requested. This can include the provision of coaching or training of staff, either by sourcing external service providers or by doing it yourself. You will be responsible for sourcing experts in the different HR fields Fairfood needs advice in, who (often pro-deo) assist you in your work.
Your competences
You have a university degree in a related field, e.g. human resources or organisational psychology. You have at least three years experience working in the field of human resources and have knowledge of relevant regulation and HR tools and instrument. But more important is that you have a pro-active, positive attitude, are willing to handle all tasks and duties related to HR. You are a natural coach and have an aptitude for making people perform better. You want to help build a professional organization in which contributing to ‘a better world’ is more important than personal achievement or salary. You also have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and preferably some knowledge of Dutch.
What do we offer?
We offer a versatile position within a young international organisation, providing sufficient opportunities to achieve results. Due to our commitment to spend our funds on achieving our mission, the salaries within Fairfood are not excessive. The annual salary is non-negotiable and fixed at € 32,838.81, based on a 40 hour work week and includes holiday allowance. In addition, we offer a gross personal budget amount, in lieu of pension, of € 2,843.66 per annum. Work-home travel costs are reimbursed.
