The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.

We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel.

QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors. 
Position Summary
The objective of this role is to coordinate the delivery of Land Access services and the maintenance of long term landholder relationships through the provision of support to field-based colleagues in Field Corporate Services. The role will be Brisbane-based and will coordinate the end-to-end land access process in order to meet the QGC business plans.

In association with the field-based team, this will include being responsible for:
• Delivering compliance against all legislative and internal policies
• Ensuring that all land access negotiations are closed out documented using the appropriate land access permissions, clearances and compensation agreements.

This role requires a strong focus on supporting field-based colleagues with documentation, advisory and project management support to:
• Facilitate timely access to land
• Ensure engagement and negotiation with landowners in a consistent, fair approach.

The incumbent will provide direction to a team of Land Access Advisors as well as other internal stakeholders to derive the best possible solutions to issues as they arise.

The incumbent will work within the assigned regional area for the role.
Key Accountabilities
Position Specific
Ensure the delivery of Land Access services and the maintenance of long-term landholder relationships in line with QGC’s business plans.

Assist field-based colleagues to:
• Deliver the QGC Land and Community strategy and execution plan as defined in the QGC Land Manual and/or business plan. Including the access to, and release of well sites
• Deliver the Land and Community activities in line with budget, schedule and performance criteria
• Identify and manage all Land and Community interfaces and relationships with partners and key stakeholders
• Advise on Land and Community negotiations and the land access compensation framework
• Manage the escalation process of Land and Community issues and facilitate the involvement of legal counsel where appropriate
• Lead the identification of risks and eliminate or implement mitigation measures. Capitalise on potential opportunities
• Ensure QGC Policies and Standards are implemented and adhered to within team and actively contribute to improve the Land Access processes.
• Ensure information and agreements are documented and managed using agreed systems, tools and guidelines
• Oversee and monitor the effective allocation of resources to ensure mutual positive outcomes for QGC and personnel
• Ensure Land and Community lessons learned are fed back within the asset and to internal stakeholders
• Provide advice on Land and Community process and policy to external and internal stakeholders as well as field-based colleagues to facilitate best strategy for progression of discussions with landholders
• Be familiar with and support the implementation of QGCs grievance management process
• Develop and maintain good relationships with the community and other team members as required

People Management• Successfully manage the Land and Community team within allocated regional area to deliver Land and Community outcomes, including definition of responsibilities and accountabilities of team members
• Participate actively in career development of direct reports, and succession planning initiatives to build future expertise
• The incumbent must abide by company policy in relation to HR policies and procedures such as annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience Needed
• Verifiable performance and delivery working as a team member, typically gained through two or more responsible project assignments – preferably within Land Access
• Interfaced with discipline-specific contractors to support delivery of technical requirements, including participation in negotiations
• Demonstrated experience operating in a role which required building and maintaining strong professional relationships with stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience understanding and applying rules, procedures and standards to ensure high quality outcomes
• Leading a team and achieving results through others
• Previous exposure to rural / farming business and communities (desirable)
• Previous experience in a relevant industry (desirable)

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
• Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership
• Tertiary qualifications in science, law, engineering, business or a related field
• Sound regulatory knowledge:
      Environmental Protection Act
      Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act
      Cultural Heritage Act
• Demonstrated understanding of QGC’s Policies and Standards relating to Land Access (or able to readily obtain)
• Excellent communication, influencing and relationship management skills
• Excellent people-management skills
• Ability to drive results in a complex, ever-changing environment
• Ability to gather and consolidate information from various sources, identify key issues and report to key stakeholders in a concise manner
• Good understanding of rural/farming activities, concerns and business

Special Features
• Role will involve field work including frequent travel to remote locations to undertake core job responsibilities
• Incumbent may be required to undertake job rotation with other Land Delivery Leads within the Land Delivery team
