Job PurposeThe Manager Schedules Planning ensures the best possible utilization of the Air Serbia fleet both passenger and cargo, the result being the Air Serbia flight schedule season by season. The purpose of the job is to create an economically and operationally optimized schedule, coordinate that schedule internally with all relevant departments and externally with all concerned air transport authorities, and to distribute the schedule according to industry standards, optimizing the cost/benefit ratio hereof. Furthermore it has to constantly monitor the economic and operational feasibility of the Air Serbia Flight schedule and to deliver future schedule scenarios to the network planning team which form the basis for economical evaluation, consistently optimizing the Air Serbia hub pattern.
Responsibilities
  • Planning the seasonal passenger schedule in order to optimize utilization of the Air Serbia fleet and optimize the wave/hub structure, considering all relevant commercial and operational requirements/Objective for CFY: further increase fleet utilization and streamline the wave/hub structure
  • Coordinating the Schedule with all concerned external Civil Aviation Authorities in order to get the necessary permissions to operate the Air Serbia Schedule as planned// Objectives for CFY: ensure all necessary permits are in place
  • Coordinating the Schedule with all concerned slot coordinators and managing the Air Serbia slot portfolio in order to facilitate the operation of the planned schedule and to increase the companies slot assets//Objectives for CFY: get all necessary slot clearances and increase the slot portfolio at slot restricted airports like LHR and FRA
  • Distributing the Schedule according to industry standards in order to enable operational planning within the company and in order to maximize the availability and sellability of Air Serbia Flights worldwide// Objectives for CFY: ensure smooth and efficient distribution of Air Serbia schedules via all necessary channels
  • Supervising the Scheduling team in the planning process for Cargo Flights in order to ensure an operationally and commercially optimal planning process in conjunction with the Cargo department//Objectives for CFY: ensure efficient planning and schedule distribution process of Cargo flights
  • Supervising the Scheduling team in the planning process for Charter flights in order to ensure an operationally and commercially optimized charter schedule//Objectives for CFY: ensure optimization of fleet utilization by planning commercially viable charter flights into capacity idle times
  • Planning the future schedules for the business plan in conjunction with the Network Planning Team in order to ensure an efficient budgeting and resource planning process throughout the whole company//Objectives for CFY: produce and update the rolling budget schedule up to 2009 together with the network planning team
  • Managing the Scheduling department in terms of people /admin management in order to ensure efficient and smooth operation of the department//Objectives for CFY: ensuring efficient operation of the department and creating the environment for direct reports to fulfill their tasks efficiently and with a maximum level of job satisfaction for the individual
RequirementsQualification & Education:
  • Bachelors’ degree, preferably in one of Statistics, Mathematics or Economics
  • Post graduate qualifications would be a distinct advantage (MBA or International recognized Qualification)
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years working experience in a Scheduling department in a schedules managing role, with an airline that operates such a department according to IATA industry standards
Training & Knowledge:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Serbian
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience using MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Minimum requirement IATA training courses related to Schedules Planning Procedures, ideally complemented by IATA training courses in Network Planning/Airline Marketing.
  • Experience using Schedule Planning and Slot Management software (preferably Sabre AirVision)
  • Ability to think strategically and work backwards from a long-term vision for programs
  • Ability to communicate exceptionally clearly and to influence a network of stakeholders, including at senior levels
