National Director – World Vision Haiti

World Vision (WV) is a global network of over 44,000 people in nearly 100 countries committed to enhancing the well-being of children everywhere by empowering families and communities to overcome the challenges of poverty and injustice.
The National Director will strategically lead, develop and direct the implementation of all aspects of World Vision Ministry as an effective member of the World Vision Partnership to ensure high ministry quality and high impact in the field. This person will represent WV in Haiti to all donors, project partners, other WV Partnership offices and divisions, local government, church representatives and non-governmental organizations serving according to given Power of Attorney.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 
  • Strategy, Operating Plan and Long- and Short-Term Targets: Ensure there is a documented office strategy, Ministry strategies and operating plans, and the latter have been derived from the office strategy and has clear, measurable short-term and long-term targets
  • Leadership and Management of the office: Lead processes to develop national office governance from advisory status to governing board
  • Compliance and Country Legal environment: Ensure the office complies to local legal requirements and standards
  • Financial Management and Financial and Operational Audit Compliance: Ensure efficient and effective organisational practices, that result in successful financial and operational audit scores
  • National Resource Development: Explore opportunities and facilitate National Resource Development plan.

SKILLS REQUIRED INCLUDE:
  • 5-10 years of experience in leadership roles internationally, especially in developing countries.
  • Significant experience in senior management of relief and development programs, with considerable overseas experience.
  • Good understanding of Advocacy principles and International Development work.
  • Some experience in overseeing large government grants; their acquisition and donor engagement.
  • Fluency in French and English is required.
  • Ability to work and travel extensively in country, as well as internationally (approximately 20-25% of working time).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in management or social sciences (advanced degree is preferred).
