Project Manager, Pakistan - Social Development Group

We currently are seeking a seasoned Project Managerwith varied social sector experience for a full-time position based in Ottawa.
Duties include:
  • Managing and directing new or existing international development projects. This includes: supervising and coordinating inputs and efforts from field and HQ team members; performing quality control on all deliverables; "hands-on" rigorous management of budgets, contracts and schedules; and maintaining clear communication lines between HQ, the field and clients;
  • Marketing and business development to win new development and management consulting contracts;
  • Providing expert technical input to projects;
  • Assisting the VP in corporate management and business planning; and
  • Overseas travel required. 
Selection Criteria:
Education:
  • Master's degree from a recognized educational institution, or a Bachelor's Degree with exceptional experience. 
Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with progressively more responsibility in project management and direction, administration and financial management in a team environment;
  • Proven project management experience as a Team Leader or Deputy Team Leader on relevant consulting assignments;
  • Overseas experience working in developing or transitional countries;
  • Preference will be given to individuals with experience managing large, long-term projects involving multi-million dollar budgets;
  • Experience with AusAID and/or CIDA reporting requirements (an asset);
  • Technical expertise in a sector relating to social development (an asset); and
  • Experience working in Pakistan (an asset).

  • English is essential.
