WHAT WE ARE

based in Brussels, ensures the day-to-day activity of the association.
WHAT WE ASK
EBC is currently looking for a EP Public Affairs Officer (full time) for a Maternity leave replacement of 4-5 months starting 1st April 2014. The PA officer will be in charge of coordinating and proactively carrying out all activities related to the preparation and follow-up of the upcoming European elections and contact with elected MEPs. This will be done in direct contact with the EBC Secretary General.
A general but non-exhaustive list of tasks include monitoring and analysis of European parties programmes and their relevance for SMEs, proactive lobbying and contacts with prominent candidates, advocating for EBC’s concerns to be taken into account, disseminating the EBC Manifesto for the European Elections 2014.
After the elections, the bulk of the work will consist in contacting elected MEPs and alerting them of the needs of SMEs for the opening legislature, following the setting-up of the EP Committees and political groups, monitoring the work and negotiations for the formation of the next European Commission.
Coordination with the national members of EBC will also be central in this position, in order to replicate the EBC messages also at national level.
The PA officer will also assist in performing tasks as translation, text editing, communication and event organisation, mainly concerning the planning and running of the EBC General Assembly. Finally, the PA officer may be asked to assist the Secretary General in some policy areas of relevance for EBC.
WHAT WE SEEK
The successful candidate will be a motivated, talented and very flexible professional. She/he will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in at least French and English.
The candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a small dedicated and young team. Previous experience at the European Parliament, as MEP’s assistant or political group’s staff member, will be a major asset.
WHAT WE OFFER
