Temporary – Fundraising Coordinator

Exciting short-term opportunity for a dynamic fundraising professional with a passion for people and nature. Help WWF build a sustainable future by providing administrative support to the Development team for the implementation of their fundraising initiatives and to the Event Manager for the organisation of events and field trips.


Location/Contract Details:

WWF office in Gland, Switzerland. This is a fixed-term contract for 6 months. Looking for candidate to start asap.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provides support for donor cultivation and stewardship including drafting, editing, formatting and proof-reading concept notes, proposals, reports, contracts and letters for Foundations and Major Donors and file them appropriately to make them available to the Development team.
  • Liaises with various departments within the organisation and within the WWF Network to obtain information for the development of project concepts and funding proposals for grants.
  • Provides all logistical support for the preparation of meetings with prospects or donors, including scheduling meeting, coordinating and preparing relevant documents such as background materials, power point presentations etc. and liaising with Donor offices as required.
  • In conjunction with the Head of Foundations or Foundations Relationship Manager, manage some already established "institutional relationships" with mid size donors, answering various Donor requests, preparing reports, presentation, concepts and proposals with the implementing offices.
  • In conjunction with the Development team draft and edit mailings for Donors for flagship publications, like the annual review, LPR and other reports as required.
  • In agreement with the Head of Foundations make light updates to Foundations related information in Raisers Edge.
  • Responsible for tracking Foundations income, reconciling it with Finance’s monthly Fundraising report and liaising with Finance and Project Finance to make the appropriate corrections.
  • Responsible for consolidating invitation lists for events and providing regular rsvp update to Event Manager.
  • Responsible for making fresh innovative speaker’s proposal to Event Manager and partially responsible for following up on speaker’s request.
  • • Undertakes partial responsibility for drafting printed or electronic event marketing materials (save the date, invitation, evening programmes, menus distributed or send out to all invitees) and slideshow.
  • Supports planning for logistics of events and field trips for donors, including on-site event management
  • Assists with securing in-kind gifts for various Events, including charity auctions.
  • Keeps event venues, service providers contact lists, and event related field of the database (Raisers Edge) up-to-date.
  • Responsible for maintaining web and intranet pages for the Foundations and Events units.
  • Keeps track of invoices, tracking sheets, income and liaises with the Finance Department.
  • Acts more broadly as a back-up within the Development Department during the absence of other assistants, the Event Manager and Foundations Relationship Managers.

What you need:

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
  • Ease in dealing with people at different levels – especially with high level constituencies - and of different cultures;
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with attention to details;
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work autonomously;
  • Excellent team player with good networking and interpersonal skills;
  • Ease in adapting to rapidly changing environments;
  • Excellent command of Excel, Word, Powerpoint. Design and publishing skills for visual layout including use of adobe creative suite, InDesign Photoshop illustrator would be a plus;
  • Ease in working with figures and budgets;
  • Writing and editing skills;
  • Mother tongue English and fluent in French;
  • An interest in the field of nature conservation and natural resource management;
