Job Description:
The function of the Business Development Assistant is twofold: maintaining good relations with current members and follow up on potential member leads and make them BenCham members. The main task is thus to make sure that all the business development and project activities of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China, Chapter Beijing are executed in a timely and precise manner. The internship offers a broad variety of responsibilities, from prospecting, attending meetings, writing follow-ups, actively working on and implementing projects to being responsible for member relations.
Main Tasks:
  • Assisting the General Manager in the further development of services and activities of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce
  • Assisting in the communication with members, stakeholders and partners; responding to enquiries and using basic CRM
  • Promoting the Chamber of Commerce and establishing relations with potential members or partners, e.g. at networking events and exhibitions
  • Evaluating the attitudes of members and non-member towards the Chamber’s services and activities, to ensure that the output meets evolving needs
  • Contributing to reaching sales targets
  • Assisting on current key projects and researching and developing new projects
  • Follow-up on the implementation of the membership card
  • Keeping the membership flow chart up to date
Skills:
  • Fluent command of spoken and written English
  • French, Dutch, Luxembourgish or Chinese language skills are a strong asset
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Bachelor/Master degree student; preferably business related
  • Sincerely interested in the Chinese business environment
  • Great organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy
  • A proactive team player and a self-starter, energetic and presentable

Remarks:
This internship will provide you with valuable and substantial working experience. The Chamber of Commerce offers involvement in various key projects and exposure to a wide range of foreign businesses and organizations in Beijing.
To work in China requires having a visa. You are fully responsible to arrange a valid visa prior to your internship with BenCham, this includes all costs involved. Various external factors change the type of visa required and the documentation/procedures that need to be taken in order to obtain the visa. BenCham can only provide you advise but can by no means guarantee a valid visa. If a valid visa cannot be obtained, an internship at BenCham cannot be fulfilled.
