Data and Analytics Adviser - Monitoring and Evaluation

About the Job: 
Nuru International is seeking a Data and Analytics Adviser - Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). S/he will be responsible for providing expert technical guidance on data analysis, evaluation design, and methodology to contribute to demonstrating impact of organization’s integrated approach to end extreme poverty in remote rural area. S/he will report to director of monitoring and evaluation.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Lead the institutionalization of systematic program monitoring for organization:
    • Conduct due-diligence on potential technical partners and support the negotiation process and partnership agreements for the Salesforce centralized database system;
    • Manage oversight, development, and maintenance of the Salesforce database for program monitoring, including consulting with IT, finance, and appropriate internal stateside staff, liaise with field side staff as needed.
  • Advise on the development and implementation of high quality evaluations for organization's projects:
    • Research and recommend appropriate evaluation design, data collection, and analytical methods to measure program impact to M&E;
    • Interface with the field via the M&E program strategic adviser and Kenya and Ethiopia program specialists (PS) on implementation as needed.
  • Learning and development goals:
    • Research and expand knowledge of industry standards for M&E related to one or more of organization's key programs through readings, webinars, and conferences and leverage this knowledge in organization's M&E’s community of practice calls, strategic projects, development of guidelines and tools, project proposals, and donor communications.
  • Professional expectations:
    • Proactive and act independently on the guidance and intent prescribed;
    • Accept constructive feedback and guidance and react accordingly to improve performance.
Qualifications: 
  • Graduate degree (either MA or MS) with an additional 3-4 years of work experience, preferably with course work in International Development, Monitoring and Evaluation, Research Methods, Statistics, Econometrics;
  • Solid knowledge and experience working with STATA as well as both quantitative and qualitative data;
  • Previous experience managing and/or developing a database. Salesforce experience a plus.
