British American Tobacco (www.bat.com) is a market leading global organisation with a long, established history and a bright and dynamic future.  An excellent opportunity exists for a passionate, insightful and  technically focused Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager.

As the EH&S Manager, you will report to the Operations Manager.  You will be responsible for the development of safety management plans, instigating and rolling out projects, facilitating incident investigations and providing technical guidance and support at all levels. You will oversee compliance assurance program, perform site reviews, and lead efforts with management team to implement corrective actions. You will plan and conduct EHS relevant Training for all stakeholders, where necessary. You will utilise exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to proactively develop strong relationships with key stakeholders at the site and achieve advanced safety outcomes through the operation.  You will provide leadership to the site with a 'hands on' operational focus.

 
Essential requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have relevant bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or Manufacturing Engineering qualifications with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership capacity. You must have demonstrated technical and practical knowledge of current OHS legislation.

You must have exposure in driving sustainable cultural changes in a manufacturing or similar environment.  You should have the ability to innovate, influence and build relationships.  You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work independently and also as an active member of the team. 

You will need to be a strong self-starter, be willing to learn, take responsibility and enjoy getting things done in a pressured environment.

Desirable requirements It would be advantageous to have a valid driving license.
