Head of Finance

We are looking for a Head of Finance who will provide leadership and oversight of the Finance Sector in providing financial management for the full range of accounting, financial and procurement services required by WWF-Malaysia, as is ensuring sound internal financial controls are implemented and practised across the organisation.

Location:

WWF office in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

Main responsibilities:
1. Ensuring there is transparency and good governance in all financial aspects and adherence to the policies and procedures pertaining to finance, procurement and asset management for all offices.

2. Ensure an effective and efficient financial management information system is in place to meet the requirements of various stakeholders which includes donors, WWF-Network, Board, Exco, SMT, Sector Leaders, project executors and other regulatory bodies.

3. Strategic advice and consultation for departments in planning and execution of their respective business plans and ensuring that the organisation’s finances and accounting systems can support the achievement of the departmental strategies.

4. Effective communication maintained with all stakeholders including Exco, Board, staff, consultants, suppliers/vendors, banks or financial institutions, auditors, suppliers/vendors, donors and relevant regulatory bodies, in all matters relating to finance.

5. Ensure that all relevant knowledge management within the Finance Sector is maintained and archived accordingly and is easily retrievable with the use of available technological tools in the organisation.

6. Where required, to participate and represent the Chief Executive Officer to the WWF-Network in terms of Finance for the organisation thus ensuring there is an establishment of Network Citizenship.

7. Establish short-term, medium-term goals and objectives for the Finance sector and plan, execute and monitor activities within the Finance Sector to ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved.


What you need:

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies 
1. A certified accountant with a university degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related subject or equivalent professional qualification is essential.

2. At least seven (7) years of relevant working experience from the corporate sector or a minimum of five (5) years working experience within the organisation is essential.

3. Knowledge of intensive audit processes, good technical accounting background with investment knowledge, inclusive of but not limited to financial accounting, budgeting, cashflow management, internal financial controls and reporting principles, methods, techniques and standards and sound human resource management skills.

4. A business oriented individual with the ability to analyse and interpret accounts and financial systems and its support requirements and provide consultation and recommendations to management.

5. A mature individual, who is proactive, with good interpersonal skills, innovative thinking, and a versatile ability to work in a team or to work independently. Has good management skills from the corporate sector with very strong leadership qualities and people oriented. 

6. Analytical, resourceful, meticulous and well organised with a zero tolerance for inaccuracy.

7. Excellent communication skills for business correspondence and dealing with internal or external customers.

8. Must be computer literate and have the ability to embrace appropriate technology to enhance communication channels and management information systems.

9. Excellent written and oral skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. 

10. A general understanding and appreciation of the nature of the business WWF-Malaysia operates and its departmental philosophy.
