INTERN at COWI in Lyngby , JUNE 2014

Location:
Lyngby
Closing date:
24/06/2014
Would you like, as an intern, to be part of three EU projects, which involves working closely with the European Commission on several labour market issues?
We are currently working on three European projects with a direct link to labour market issues. The projects concern Occupational safety and health; Impact assessment of the working time directive; and Mapping of the structural changes in the ICT and telecommunications sector.
COWI is looking for an intern to assist the teams with literature search and review. You will also participate in interviews with stakeholders/experts, draft interview reports and analyse qualitative and quantitative data collected.
Interviews will be conducted from 25 to 27 June 2014 and we would like you to start 1 July or as soon as possible thereafter. The internship is limited to five months.

About us

You will join a dynamic team that works to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables to the European Commission.
You will be challenged to explore the busy environment of the consulting industry. Furthermore, you must be independent, show initiative, be able to think creatively, and communicate clearly and systematically. It is important that you be proficient in written English and that you feel comfortable working under tight deadlines.
Weekly working hours are 37 in July and August. After 1 September, we will find a solution (e.g. 20 hours per week) which can be combined with your studies. We expect you to be flexible regarding working hours.

Professional qualifications

You are currently enrolled in a Master’s programme in the field of social science, economics, law or other relevant studies.

You are:

  • eager to learn more about the working methods of the European Commission and the consultants who work for the Commission.
  • comfortable working in a busy environment.
  • familiar with the inter-institutional relations in the EU.
  • able to work effectively under time pressure.
  • interested in the European labour market.

Personal skills

COWI Economics is looking for an intern with a combination of high professional skills, strong interpersonal competencies, a keen interest in economic issues, and an international outlook. You are able to meet deadlines, you do not hesitate to ask for help, and you enjoy challenging tasks.
We can offer a MBTI profile test, training in programming (if appropriate for the project) and one or more international fact-finding trips. If you need to write an assignment related to your internship, we are willing to help you find inspiration as well as a relevant topic. During your internship, COWI will pay for your lunch and transport in the Greater Copenhagen area.
