Maintenance Planner
Tropicana represents the most significant Australian gold discovery of the last decade. The new, large scale open pit gold mining operation will produce 3.6 million ounces over a 10 year mine life (approved project). Construction began in 2011 and first gold production was achieved in September 2013 ahead of schedule.
We are now seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join our operations team at the Tropicana Gold Mine.
Accountable to the Planning and Shutdowns Superintendent, this role is responsible for supporting the fixed-plant operations by providing professional quality, cost effective and efficient scheduled maintenance, and assisting with reliability improvement of the processing fixed-plant. This role is FIFO 8/6 from Perth or Kalgoorlie to the Tropicana Gold Mine.
The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the development and implementation of appropriate asset management strategies through effective maintenance planning for all equipment and associated systems in the gold processing plant
- Improving work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access
- As a key contact and liaison person between Maintenance, Operations and other supported departments ensuring Maintenance is provided as a timely, efficient and quality service.
- Supporting operations as they balance their need for daily output with their need for equipment reliability through proactive & predictive maintenance
- Providing long term planning through systematic analysis of backlog relative to available resources
- Identification of opportunities to improve plant performance in terms of production capacity and maintenance cost
- Optimising preventative maintenance and condition monitoring schedules and procedures
- Planning and optimising of the plant lubrication plans to improve equipment reliability
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Engineering degree or trade in mechanical or electrical disciplines with at least 3 years’ experience as a planner or planner/supervisor in a metals processing environment
- Electrical planning experience will be held in high regard
- Familiar with the maintenance planning requirements of large crushing and milling processes and equipment, with desirable high pressure grinding rollers
- Experience in remote site reliability maintenance planning challenges
- Experience in using a computer based ERP system, particularly SAP and intermediate skills in MS Office
- WA C Class Driver’s license
- A National Police Clearance
