Project Coordinator

Based in Washington, D.C., ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development organization that delivers technical and management assistance in agribusiness, financial services, enterprise development, community development, and food security to promote broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil societies. ACDI/VOCA has approximately 70 projects in 35 countries and total revenues of approximately $173 million.
We are seeking a D.C.-based Project Coordinator who will be responsible for providing primary support to field projects and contributing information on proposal teams. The Project Coordinator is expected to perform tasks with more autonomy and may be assigned to projects that are more complex or larger in scope.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist in preparing scopes of work for consultant and volunteer assignments
• Submit requests to issue letter of assignment for hired staff and consultants
• Support field staff mobilization and repatriation
• Make travel arrangements and review and process expense reports for volunteers and consultants
• Ensure field compliance with insurance documentation for properties and leases
• Review monthly field financial reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
• Coordinate and process monthly project advance requests between the Chief of Party, Project Accountant, and HQ Accounting and Finance team; submit banking POA and bank account requests to CFO
• With Program Manager, collect and report on financial management of projects, including budgets, burn rates, obligations, and cost shares
• Compile, edit, and distribute monthly project updates
• Draft requests to the donor under guidance from field staff or Program Manager
• Assist with editing project quarterly and annual reports
• Compile and distribute technical and financial data to complete project reviews
• Assist in project Startup and Closeout activities, as assigned
• Under guidance, serve as a proposal coordinator on new proposals
• Under guidance, participate in recon trips as assigned

A bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in international development, agriculture, finance, economics, or other related field, with a minimum of two years’ experience in international development or related field required. Experience with food security preferred. Experience with multimedia applications and Microsoft Office programs required. Fluency in English and French required, Spanish skills a plus. The ability to travel internationally is required.
