IUCN NL
(full-time)
IUCN NL is the Dutch branch of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the world's oldest and largest union of nature organisations. Each year IUCN draws up the Red List of Threatened Species, and is the only nature conservation organisation to have been awarded the status of ambassador to the United Nations. IUCN NL's goal within the international IUCN umbrella organisation is to monitor, promote and support the conservation, recovery and sustainable use of ecosystems and biodiversity in the Netherlands and Southern Hemisphere countries. IUCN NL's activities are focused on three themes: “Sustainable, green economy”, “Green international cooperation” and “International dimensions of environmental policy”. IUCN currently has 40 member organisations in the Netherlands.
Promoting a green economy in cooperation with the business community is a key pillar of our work. Through our Leaders for Nature network and the Platform Biodiversity, Ecosystems and Economy (BEE), IUCN NL advises and supports multinationals and other large companies in making their business practices more sustainable.
Leaders for Nature is IUCN NL's business network, in which multinationals and large Dutch companies are working together on the transition to a sustainable, green economy. By supplying expertise, advice, training and inspiration for specific projects, Leaders for Nature encourages participating companies to become pioneers in this transition and to integrate natural capital in all facets of their business operations.
