The Democratic Alliance seeks a self-motivated and goal-driven individual for this position, which reports directly to the Executive Director: Support Services. The HR Manager will be responsible for managing all HR and IR matters for the DA and will lead a team of 3 staff members, comprising a Payroll Officer, a Recruitment Officer and an HR Administrator

The ideal candidate must be able to:

  • Provide effective recruitment, selection and placement processes
  • Ensure that the HR policy and procedures are adhered to and implemented countrywide
  • Provide and represent the Party effectively in terms of all matters relating to industrial relations
  • Provide effective management and leadership
  • Direct the production of HR projects and policy.

  • Self-motivated and dynamic
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Preparedness to work long and irregular hours
  • Systematic and comprehensive with excellent attention to detail
  • Self-starter who takes the initiative and strives to improve his/her performance
  • Ability to accept responsibility and be accountable for work standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outcomes orientated, not simply task orientated
  • A positive "can do" attitude
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • 4-5 years' relevant HR experience
  • Computer literacy
  • Previous managerial experience
  • Proficiency in more than one language would be advantageous.
