Asia Corporate Engagement Specialist
This role aims to leverage partnering opportunities (with a special emphasis on corporate relationships) to address child-wellbeing issues across Asia Pacific. It is an exciting role with an open remit for innovation and creativity requiring a dynamic leader with vision, strategy experience, excellent relationship management skills and a track record in public private partnering and social innovation. Responsible for supporting SAPO, EAS and Asian Support Offices in their development of both in-country and cross region Corporate Engagement processes and relationships. Support is defined as providing the resources and capability to
- Provide the liaison, integration and coordination of Regional strategies to produce a coherent Regional Corporate Engagement strategy. Under this strategic umbrella, to then work with specific WV offices to help define and then assist in the delivery of local Corporate Engagement Strategies.
- Provide the skills and experience to assess, co-develop and then facilitate the implementation of corporate business plan and relationship engagement strategies
- Support product innovation and development aimed at engaging corporate partners in new ways to contribute to child-wellbeing aspirations across the region.
- Improve relationship management processes and corporate staff capacity across the region.
- Assisting in corporate targets setting and progress assessment
- Provide the initial necessary relationship and project management capability to get any cross regional – or in some case in-country - major corporate engagement activities underway and operational. This role is seen as providing the transition when WV offices may not have the necessary skill or capacity to manage the start of these relationships.
- Liaise with Asian SOs, GMT, SAPO and EAS leadership to support wider marketing and collaborative fundraising priorities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify, propose and where appropriate, lead implementation of any corporate offerings that meet WV ministry needs that require participation of 2 or more Asian offices. This will be achieved by working with, supporting and understanding the capabilities of the Asian programs, strategies initiatives. A key element will be the ability to relate and communicate this progress to the SAPO, EAS, and GCEU Leadership.
Drive for the continued inter-office cooperation and engagement with Asian offices in order to deliver any cross regional or multi-office engagement activities decided. - Strengthen account management for selected corporate relationships
- Coordinate pan-WVI information sharing for priority accounts
- Support business development opportunities in conjunction with in-country senior management
- Strengthen positioning to create shared value & corporate social ventures
- Where required, provide the regional support and interface WV global account management teams in operation across WV offices
- Where required as a project startup leader or, when specific resources are unavailable, to act as the regional lead on selected key accounts as a transition role until such time as full time local office resources can be put into place.
- Deliver GCEU key activities in the region, such as: Salesforce.com, Due Diligence, Training Initiatives as required.
- Responsible to work with offices to keep an updated database of corporate accounts and account managers across the region through the use of Salesforce.com
- When required, provide training, mentoring and consulting support to build the skills and capacities of Asian Corporate Engagement teams
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to build deep networking and many faceted relationships at the NO and SO levels as well as external to WV
- Experience and knowledge of social development policy, implementing complex programmes, understanding of monitoring & evaluation and performance improvement will differentiate the desired candidate.
- Strong analytical ability with experience in developing proposals, business and implementation plans. Advanced understanding of Corporate Business and Marketing Strategy
- Track record of successful public private partnerships and business innovation will be highly beneficial.
- Senior level experience within a large NGO or Public Sector organization and an ability to develop shared value across industries will be desirable.Bachelors’ degree in business management , strategy development and/or marketing. Masters or other advanced training in Relationship Management, Development Management, Partnership brokering and Social Entrepreneurship a plus.
- A strong corporate or public sector background with deep understanding of core relationship building processes over at least 8-10 years experience. During this time, a track record of significant and senior Corporate Relationship management will be required.
- Effective networking skills, capacity to work with and lead a network. Preferably have had experience working at a senior level across the region in corporate and/or marketing related areas.
- Excellent communicator: inter personal, writing, and public speaking. Experience in developing New or emerging Markets
PREFERRED: - Fluent in English. Skills in an Asian language is a plus.
