The Australian market is experiencing a time of dynamic change in all levels of the value chain: increased competition with the formation of a JV between CCA (Coca Cola Amatil), Maxium brands (Jim Beam) and SAB Miller (Miller and Pilsner Urquel);
As customers consolidate and nationalise, growing their sophistication and importance to Diageo, this job plays an important thought-leading role in preparing Diageo‘s response to these customer trends.
Purpose of Role
- To lead the development of winning GAME & Activity Plans which drive Diageo’s sales, share and brand building, contributing to achievement of Joint Customer Business Plans and category growth.
- Act as Air Traffic Control for all activity at the POP, ensuring we have a winning & manageable mix of brand, shopper & category activity to drive business performance
- Flawless end to end execution
Leadership Responsibilities
This Level 4 role requires 360-degree influence and leadership applied cross-functionally at Exec levels through to L4, 5 & 6s
Lead the Commercial Planning and Execution work stream within the Customer Marketing organisation
Top 3-5 Accountabilities:
Developer & driver of Total Commercial Planning process:
- To design & execute an effective and efficient planning process, which stretches across the Commercial Team, Consumer, Shopper and Customer
- To secure input and buy-in from MLT, CMLT and SLT to engage in the process and commit to its adherence and success
Leader of GAME and JUBP process: From generation of activation platforms through to company activity programmes and Customer Collaboration events :
- Critical path manager - co-ordinator and communicator of the planning cycles, forums, materials and outputs – around GAME, JUBP and JBP processes
- Lead and facilitate activity workshops and forums
- Drive adherence to process and timelines
Sizing & prioritisation of activities, as key input to company resource management, especially Field Sales utilisation
- Assessing payback through M&E on previous activity and projections
- Identifying resource involved, cost and time
- Scorecarding and delivery of In Channel execution
- Commercial Activity Grids
- Activity Description (Ads)
- Co-lead: Activity Briefings (TABs)
- Co-lead: Assessing payback through M&E on previous activity and projections
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- 8+ years experience in customer facing and customer marketing roles within retail / FMCG businesses
- Degree/MBA qualifications in relevant tertiary discipline
- Strong Commercial awareness
- Advanced leadership capability; Motivating & inspiring teams and ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.
- Confident with budget management & the various strings that can be pulled to achieve our volume, NSV & Customer Collaboration objectives.
