The Australian National University wishes to appoint an outstanding academic leader to be Dean of the ANU College of Law. The College is the 7th oldest of Australia’s 33 law schools, and has produced graduates who are now leaders in their chosen fields all over the world. It is also home to some of Australia’s best-known and most outstanding legal scholars and teachers.

The College offers a wide range of coursework programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and also supervises students for higher degrees by research.

The Dean will be responsible for the strategic direction of the College and the oversight of the research, education and community engagement outcomes of the College.

The successful applicant must have the capacity to provide strong and considered academic leadership; to plan strategically; to manage productively and inclusively with highly refined interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and lead teams; to relate effectively to a wide range of academic and non-academic colleagues and partners; and to promote the College’s education and research interests successfully both inside and outside the University.
