The Institute of Bankers Malaysia (IBBM) is committed to the development and delivery of world-class banking education and learning. Hence, the Institute through its transformation strategy is broadening its products suite, realigning the supporting learning and curriculum capabilities and infrastructures, and partnering reputable institutions with the aim of developing global education for the financial services industry, be admired for its excellent delivery and is well regarded for its thought leadership, intellectual and applied research, round table conferences and publications.
To support these efforts and goals, we are inviting exceptional individuals to fill the position of Subject Matter Expert. The individual will need to be strong in both concepts and applied knowledge in banking and finance, have an established track record of independent high quality applied research, publications and a good grasp of the developments and challenges in a rapidly changing banking environment.
To contribute effectively to this role, you will need a deep understanding of global banking developments and trends (present and future), a passion to identify new learning applications, and be able to develop innovative training methodologies to support changes to the new learning architecture and frontiers, and meet the learning outcomes.
You will join the Institute on a contractual basis, develop contacts with international affiliates, the industry and universities and make a significant contribution to faculty of resources, curriculum development, research and publications, provide valued inputs to a series of certification initiatives and strengthen the training materials within the Institute.
You will have an internationally recognized qualification and leadership experiences in the field of banking and finance, demonstrated by a well regarded publication track record and international speaking engagements. In addition, you will have teaching ability at postgraduate and executive level. A research interest in emerging markets is welcomed. Fluency in English is a must and an additional language is a plus.
You will also have a commitment to working across a multidisciplinary environment to collaborate in terms of teaching or research in areas like core banking regulations, risk management compliance, finance and climate change, and ethics and banking.

You will be remunerated on flexible terms as defined in the Institute’s policies. Main place of work is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Some travel within the ASEAN region is to be expected.
