Programme officer, ENCISS, Sierra Leone

The goal of the ENCISS programme is to strengthen citizens’ voice and to improve accountability. Our vision is to see an active and engaged civil society capable of articulating citizens’ demands and an effective and accountable state. ENCISS is funded by UKaid from the UK Government’s Department for International Development and the European Union and is managed by Christian Aid.

Based in Freetown, you will be responsible for supporting and managing ENCISS partnerships in Freetown and its surroundings; you will ensure effective disbursement of funds to ENCISS grantees. You will be responsible for monitoring grantees, reviewing grant proposals, reviewing narrative and financial reports from grantees in line with ENCISS grant management procedures.

To apply for this post you should have significant experience in community development and relevant experience of programme appraisal, monitoring and evaluation, capacity development with partners, and incorporation of gender methodologies into programmes and projects. You should also have an understanding of advocacy, campaigning and lobbying; experience of facilitation, training and networking, together with knowledge of financial control procedures. You should be familiar with Programme Cycle Management, approaches and tools and have an understanding of partnership approaches to development.
