The World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) is the only global organization representing the common interests of marketers. Through its network of 55 national advertiser associations on five continents and over 70 of the world’s top 100 marketers, WFA represents around 90% of global marketing communications, almost US$ 700 billion annually.

WFA defends marketers’ key interests at global and EU level, champions responsible advertising standards and actively helps its members get better value for their ad spend.

To join its public affairs team based in Brussels, WFA is recruiting a (m/f) Public Affairs Manager.

Their responsibilities will include leading WFA's advocacy work in the field of food marketing and marketing and children both with the EU institutions and global organisations, such as the World Health Organisation.

They will also play an important role in helping major global brand owners address the regulatory and societal challenges of digital marketing. This will involve facilitating the best practice exchange between companies in relation to their digital governance processes.

Key requirements:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a highly professional, international environment working in public affairs &/or strategic communications;
  • Mother tongue (or equivalent) level of written and spoken English;
  • A keen interest in and good understanding of current affairs and international politics;
  • An active interest in the role and responsibilities of business in society.

Profile of the ideal candidate:

  • A multicultural profile, ideally speaking one or more additional European language;
  • A driven, self-starter with good initiative and capacity to take responsibility for projects and run them autonomously;
  • An outgoing, open personality;
  • Polyvalent, service-minded, reliable, rigorous, attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
