The web and e-communications editor works with communicators based around the world to develop and effectively implement FoEI’s online communications and social media strategy. The web and e-communications editor is member of a team of four communications professionals led by the communications coordinator.

Job Description

The web and e-communications editor is expected to:

  • Help develop and implement FoEI’s online communications, social media and campaigning strategy;
  • Facilitate member groups' participation in and contributions to FoEI's communications;
  • Write and edit content for a wide variety of communication products, including news articles, blogs, campaign advertorials, briefings and reports.
  • Collect and prepare visual material (e.g. photos or infographics) for publication;
  • Prepare and implement online campaigns;
  • Set targets for online communications, and track and report on efforts to achieve them.

Personal profile

We are looking for someone who is creative and pro-active and can motivate others with his/her enthusiasm.

We think the following requirements are needed to be successful in this job:

  • Excellent English writing and editing skills; fluency in Spanish would be an advantage;
  • 3 years experience in online communications and international campaign work;
  • 3 years experience in working with multimedia publishing tools and social media;
  • Ability to work across and creatively use a variety of old and new communications tools to contribute to integrated communications;
  • Ability to help develop and implement online fundraising tools;
  • Affinity with FoEI’s vision and mission;
  • Affinity with collaborative decision-making processes in a global, decentralised environment;
  • Strong inter-personal, inter-cultural and organisational skills;
  • Attention to detail, an ability to meet deadlines and prioritize a demanding workload appropriately.
  • Stress-resistant and flexible, willing/able to travel (overseas) approximately 1 or 2 times per year;
  • Permission to work in EU required, no relocation package offered.

Salary for 0.9 ftu (33,75 hours/week) between € 2,927 and € 3,164 monthly.

Contract duration: 1 year, to be renewed upon positive performance evaluation.
