WV - Country Programme Manager/Child Sponsorship Specialist
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen in World Vision New Zealand's International Policy and Programmes team for an experienced Country Programme Manager, with a specialist focus on Child Sponsorship.
The Country Programme Manager role is responsible for the effective coordination of and programme management support for WVNZ-funded programmes in designated countries. The Child Sponsorship Specialist aspect of the role will provide technical oversight to all WVNZ-funded programmes in effective child sponsorship and programme integration, while championing field level testing of child sponsorship product innovations.
This is a critical role for the organisation as it implements its long-term strategic objectives. As part of a dynamic programme management team, the successful candidate will have at least 3 years' experience in the design, monitoring, and management of development projects. Preferred candidates will have experience supporting World Vision child sponsorship funded programmes and at least 1-2 years working overseas. In addition, you will be tertiary qualified to post-graduate level in a relevant discipline.
Along with this experience and education, the successful candidate will have demonstrated skill in stakeholder management and communicating and negotiating effectively across cultures. You will have advanced written communication, demonstrating an ability to write high quality technical proposals/reports. You will be a strategic thinker, with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
Programme Manager country portfolio will be one of the two following options depending on candidates' skills and experiences:
• India and Cambodia
• Honduras, Nicaragua, Mali, Niger (requires Spanish language competency)
An understanding of the mission and core values of World Vision NZ and a commitment to these values and culture of the organisation is essential. This role requires the ability to travel overseas for up to 25% of the time, possibly at short notice.
