Advocacy and communications adviser and InspirAction team leader

InspirAction is the Spanish INGO of the Christian Aid family. InspirAction is an organisation that supports people helping themselves out of poverty and speaks out against injustice. A major focus of the work of InspirAction is on advocacy and influencing in order to change the systems and structures that keep people poor. A particular advocacy target for InspirAction is the Spanish government and through it the European Union. InspirAction has a clear two-year plan for this influencing work.
The current focus areas of this work are climate change and tax justice. Please note that this job is to cover the period from mid-August 2013 to mid-January 2014 and requires someone who can learn the organisation, work quickly and achieve rapid impact. The InspirAction team is four people (including this post) so the person must be someone who has excellent inter-personal skills and has experience in managing a small team. While the role is expected to coordinate closely with Christian Aid colleagues in the UK and Ireland, it is important that the person has an excellent understanding of the social, economic and political situation in Spain in order to be most effective in the role.
