Senior programme manager, Haiti

This is an exciting opportunity to join Christian Aid’s Haiti team. The role works within the International Programme role family and is positioned in the Latin America and Caribbean division. The role is key in leading and managing programme portfolios and partners and their projects within Haiti and a policy framework and coordinating with bi-national projects with the Dominican Republic.

The Senior Programme Manager is expected to recommend projects to partners and engage with communications and fundraising, including from institutional donors, ensuring a strong link exists between our programme and advocacy. He/she will provide representation for programme and on country issues, engaging in effective fundraising, communication, liaison and networking as appropriate to make sure there will be a strategic alignment between emergency and development work.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, with strong knowledge of development issues and significant knowledge and understanding of best practice thinking and application in Organisational Development. He/she will also have substantial experience of international development programme management, including management of back donor funded projects and field based management, plus experience in the livelihoods sector and in partner support and capacity building, country. Other requirements are knowledge and understanding of principles and approaches of successful change management; programme appraisal, monitoring and evaluation and financial management, working with local indigenous partner organisations.

The candidate should be fluent in both French and English.
