Programme officer, Haiti and Dominican Republic

Christian Aid and Norwegian Church Aid are seeking a Programme Officer to join our team, to support our partners in fighting inequality and reducing the vulnerability of people in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
Christian Aid and Norwegian Church Aid, sister agencies and members of the Action by Churches Together (ACT) Alliance, are looking for a Programme Officer to support local partners working on bi-national issues affecting Haiti and the Dominican republic, including migration/rights of migrants and the situation at the border. The Programme Officer will work with two to four partners in the development, monitoring and evaluation of their programmes and projects and assist in managing back donor funding, including from the EU and national governments The position will be key in ensuring that the partner organisations receive the appropriate support to be able to scale up and implement their much needed projects and to create synergies and promote dialogue, exchanges and joint projects between Haitian and Dominican organizations. The Programme Officer will be reporting to the Christian Aid Senior Programme Manager and matrix managed by the Norwegian Church Aid Programme Coordinator, both based in Christian Aid and Norwegian Church Aid’s joint office in Port-au-Prince.
Potential candidates will need to have proven programme management experience; to be committed to working in partnership and to possess a good grasp of systems for project monitoring and evaluation. Furthermore, experience in right based approach and human rights the context of Haiti and Dominican Republic is required. Good working knowledge of Creole, French, Spanish and English is a must.
