UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a Consultancy Assignment: Consultant, Adolescent Health and Gender based in New York.

Qualification:
Advanced university degree in public health, demography, health policy/management or related social sciences.
Strong substantive and programme background in adolescent health and gender issues is essential.
At least eight years of work experience in public/global health and international development involving programme development and implementation.
Strong understanding of programming in country contexts, especially Africa.
Experience at the national and international levels in research and analysis, and especially monitoring and evaluation on adolescent health and gender issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Strong coordination, negotiation, and synthesis skills, and ability to navigate challenges in completing tasks and deliverables in a timely manner.
High level of initiative and ability to undertake complex tasks while proactively seeking relevant input, cooperation, and guidance from key constituents.
Basic understanding of current developments in the field of communication for development and knowledge about communication interventions for immunization and/or behavior change is desired.
Background in health/Immunization programmes is desirable.
Experience with UN, WHO, PATH, GAVI a plus.
Fluency in English and working knowledge of French.
