Communication and Engagement Officer

Do you have solid public relations and journalism experience? Is a stakeholder engaging approach part of your DNA? And do you want to work in an international organisation that truly has a positive impact on children’s lives?

Join the LEGO Foundation
The LEGO Foundation has embarked on a journey of growth and transformation. This gives you a unique opportunity to grow by taking part and ownership in a process full of positive change and shape the movement and strategy of the foundation going forward. Joining our Baar, Switzerland headquarter, you will head a small team of 3 dedicated professionals and become responsible for coordinating and implementing a broad range of external communication and engagement activities for the Foundation.

The foundation was established in 1986. We own 25% of the LEGO Group and base all of our activities on the belief that every child has the right to play and learn. With product donations, funding and educational support combined with teacher training and research programs, we help make education through play accessible for children around the world regardless of social status.

Engage stakeholders, coordinate event and manage media outreach
As Communication and Engagement Officer, you will help develop our strategy and roll out plans for external engagement across channels, stakeholders, platforms and geographies. This entails supporting the CEO in various tasks such as calendar management and speech writing - as well as coordinate and implement events and engaging in dialogues with global stakeholders and the media to ensure influence.

At the same time, you are in charge of our publication activities and content management. As such, you help optimise our website and social media platforms while you make sure we are able to measure the impact of our communication activities. Another key task is to map and conduct stakeholder influence assessments and derive appropriate approaches.

Since this is a new position, you will need to be visible and use every networking opportunity you can find. At the same time, you coordinate events; manage media outreach and stakeholder relationships. Initially, you will be further challenged by the fact that you will not have a complete team at your disposal. And finally, the international aspect of this position will take you travelling for about 30 percent of the year.

Journalism or Communication Professional with strong stakeholder management skills
-          You have degree in Journalism or Communication combined with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
-          Your experience includes relationship management, content production, external media relations and public relations.
-          You also have project and people management experience as well as knowledge of media channel evaluation and event management.
-          Finally, you speak and write English at a very high level and it would be a plus if you know additional languages.
-          You must be eligible to work in Switzerland or Denmark.

As a person, you are structured and thrive in a multicultural setting where you can apply your analytical mindset to plan and execute the work. With your strong stakeholder management and communication skills, you are able to build up lasting relationships across cultures and locations and to use these to deliver tangible results. Adding to that, you are open to change and you have the ability to manage complexity and operate under ambiguity.
