The result of the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise confirms Exeter’s position as one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities. Almost 90% of our research is at internationally recognised levels and every single subject submitted included world-leading (4*) research. When adjusted for the 95% of staff submitted, Exeter ranks among the top 15 in the UK for research out of 159 higher education institutions. The Times Higher Education described Exeter as 'a rising star among research-intensive institutions'.
To further strengthen our activities in International Relations we are seeking to appoint a new Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in any area of the field of International Relations.
Applicants will possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a PhD (or be demonstrably near to completion) at Lecturer level but must possess a PhD at Senior Lecturer level in International Relations or a related social science discipline in a relevant academic area, or equivalent, of the core knowledge relating to this academic area in order to teach and support learning on academic area modules. They will have an independent, internationally-recognised research programme in an active field of International research related or complementary to existing Exeter strengths. The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Applicants at Senior Lecturer level will also have proven success in significant grant capture.
