Reality Check + is funded by DFAT through the Poverty Reduction Support Facility.  Reality Check+ looks to expand the capacity of local Indonesian research organizations to conduct qualitative research including using the Reality Check Approach.  The project will conduct 2-3 studies over the course of 9 months with local organizations and support local government and development partners to use the findings to inform local programs and policies.

The first phase of the project will run from March – December 2014 with a possible follow-on.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop communications strategy for the Reality Check+ project including social media, digital communications and print media.
  • Support the technical team on stakeholder engagement activities around information needs and packaging of information
  • Develop informational products including briefing packages about Reality Check+ and qualitative methods
  • Develop communication pieces for different stakeholders on the findings from Reality Check+, including fact sheets, press releases, policy briefs, etc.
  • Support the development and promotion of the Qualitative Methods Symposium and Reality Check+ Dissemination meetings
  • Work with technical team on developing the video documentary of the Reality Check+ Approach
  • Attend conferences or workshops to promote Reality Check Approach and other qualitative methods
  • Support the development of the qualitative research methods network/community of practice and develop social media strategy for the network, e.g. blog, webinars, etc.
  • Other activities related to the project as assigned by the project director

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or journalism
  • A minimum of five years of experience in supporting communication activities for development project
  • Experience developing communication products for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience with social media and digital communication.
  • Experience organizing international events/forums.
  • Fluent in Bahasa and strong spoken and written English skills.

This role is suited for candidates based in Jakarta and will not attract mobilisation/relocation assistance. Applicants must have eligibility to work and live in Indonesia.
