Business and Costing Analyst

Sandvik Construction, provides solutions for virtually any construction industry application encompassing such diverse businesses as surface rock quarrying, tunneling, excavation, demolition, road building, recycling and civil engineering. The range of products includes rock tools, drilling rigs, breakers, bulk-materials handling and crushing and screening machinery. In 2012 sales amounted to about 9,700 MSEK, with approximately 3,300 employees.
Sandvik Venture is aiming to create the best possible environment for growth and profitability in attractive and fast-growing operations. The product areas comprise Sandvik Hard Materials, Diamond Innovations, Wolfram and Sandvik Process Systems. In 2012 sales amounted to about 7,200 MSEK, with approximately 3,600 employees.

Key performance areas:
Business and Costing Analyst shall take the ownership of the following areas as part of the main responsibilities for the position.
1. Costing
- The person should monitor, analyze and control the A&S cost development against the previous period, the forecast as well as the budget. The person should also work closely with the cost owners to drive improvement and create action plans. The other aspect is in the service costing such as labour cost in the EQ system. The person should monitor the status of the EQ system and make sure that the costs reported by the service engineer are proper and unbiased. Last but not least, the understanding and reporting of the movement of GIGO is also part of the responsibility of this position as it is an important part influencing the monthly variation on COGS.
2. Inventory Control
- The person should act as the "Stone in the Shoe" for inventory control (including OSIM). He/She needs to work with all Business Line Mangers to control the stock level in both the consignment and our warehouses. He/She should also construct a monthly tool to follow up inventory development for the senior management who will form the overall strategy on Net Working Capital.
3. Controller for Branch Office
- The person should act as the controller for our newly invested workshop to ensure that the cost and revenue are legitimately recorded. He/She should set up a controlling system/process/procedure which will support the smooth operation of the unit.
4. Business Analysis
- The person should support the business control team on various initiatives and reports so that the department can provide efficient and effective supports to all Business Lines, Business Areas as well as Group Company.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor, analyze and control the A&S cost development against the previous period, the forecast as well as the budget;
Monitor the status of EQ/warehouse/inventory/OSMI, and make sure all types of transactions are properly recorded and are in line with internal control policies which are aligned with corporate guidelines;
Formulating and streamlines the procedures/processes relating to costing control and stock management;
Review the master files/parameters/fairness of AFI in system regularly;
Analyze the variances, and prepare the reminders/adjustments when necessary;
Responsible for monthly cost reporting, warranty provision and check all cost related ledgers and sub-ledgers in ERP system;
Coordinate stock taking on a regular basis;
Work with order desk to ensure stock level are under control;
Proactively observe the weak areas in business operation and propose improvements to superior and management team;
Act as a business controller of our workshops;
Coordinate with CNS and Mining System on business operating issues, and provide solution from financial perspective; (25% of total time spent)
Other weekly/monthly reports, assignments on ad hoc projects.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
  • Financial Analysis skills: Essential for this role.
  • Ability to develop partnerships and networking: Building good external/internal network to facilitate the works.

Your profile: .
  • At least 3 years working experiences in costing from a multinational company.
  • Good communication skill both in English and Mandarin.
  • Familiar with ERP software and excellent in using Excel.
  • Work with efficiency and strong sense of responsibility and business acumen
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, initiative, team player
As a person you are proactive, self-motivated and one with lot of initiative, courage and integrity and a business minded, result oriented attitude. You also have strong communication skills and can work in an English environment.
